The Fox Theatre

The renovation of the Fox Theater in Spokane, Washington, has won a prestigious Preservation Honor Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation following completion of $31 million restoration in 2007. The award is bestowed on distinguished individuals, nonprofit organizations, public agencies and corporations whose skill and determination have given new meaning to their communities through preservation of the nation’s architectural and cultural heritage.

“The Fox Theater is a community treasure and is a key part of the ongoing economic revitalization of Spokane’s historic downtown,” explains Stephanie Meeks, president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. “Even when the Fox’s stage is bare, the building’s murals, plasterwork and light fixtures put on a show worthy of a standing ovation.”

The Fox received both New Markets and Federal Historic Tax Credits in a partnership with US Bank and Enterprise Community Investment Inc. Plymouth Soundings, acted as the Financial Coordinator, working with the Investor, CDE and Bank both in the initial closing and during project completion as well as during cost certification and first audit. Guidance was provided to Client on setting up the draw request process to meet Investor and deal structure requirements and directed the accounting team in transitioning to operations.
